A Hidden Gem, Born from Forest Destiny
In 2021, we visited Cook Forest for the first time and felt something we couldn’t name yet — the tall pines, the quiet, the way the road bends into the forest and suddenly the world feels softer.
A few months later, a vague Craigslist ad led us to 9 acres in Cook Forest. The moment we pulled up, Sara realized
"I’ve driven past this place before."
It was the old red motor lodge that had been quietly waiting among the pines — vacant, forgotten, and full of potential.
We bought the land.
Then the inn itself came back on the market.
It felt like fate.

Today, Cook Forest Inn is a retro-modern forest stay rooted in nostalgia, comfort, and nature. Eight wildlife-themed rooms, two unique cabins, and nine acres designed to bring back the joy of being outside — the way we grew up in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
